Applied Behavior Analysis, with a specific focus on Verbal Behavior, is the methodology utilized throughout the educational experience at the Upper School.  Highly trained teachers, assistant teachers, and behavior analysts use this empirically validated method based upon the theories of behaviorist B.F. Skinner.

Verbal Behavior Therapy motivates our students to learn language by connecting words with their purposes. The student learns and understands that communicating produces positive results. Research suggest that Verbal Behavior Therapy can help young children beginning to learn language and provides the path to better language usage by older students with delayed or disordered language. Verbal ABA produces positive outcomes with many students who use sign language, visual supports or other forms of assisted communication.
